On Tuesday, October 5, 2021 Barbara Anderson passed away from Covid and underlying disease at 87.

Barb was born on Sept. 14, 1934 in Duluth, MN to Skuli and Marian (Wahl) Bergson. She graduated from Central High School and later went on to receive her nursing certification at D.A.V.T.I. She married Robert "Bob" Anderson in 1953, with whom she raised two sons and a daughter.

She lived for a few years in Citrus Heights, CA but felt compelled to return to her beloved hometown of Duluth. She worked some years at Viewcrest nursing home, but spent the bulk of her career at Miller Dwan Hospital where she was employed until her retirement.

Barbara loved spending time with her kids, including trips to Island Lake for family picnics.

Barb was preceded in death by her son, Greg; parents; and brothers, Lloyd, Harry and Ronnie.

Barb is survived by her children, Linda (Mark) Martell and Mark Anderson; grandchildren, Emily, Mark Jr., Sarah, and Melanie; great-grandchild, Tasia; step-daughter, Beth Holshouser; step-grandchild, Megan Spell; and many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at Essentia Health St. Mary's Medical Center for their wonderful care during her stay.

Services will not be scheduled at this time in hopes of having a celebration of her life at a later date.
