Arthur "Wayne" Leiss, 84, of Duluth, Minnesota, went to be with Jesus on January 16, 2022 with his family by his side.

Wayne was born in Duluth to Arthur and Ann Leiss on September 8, 1937. He served in the Marine Corps as a young man, before returning to Duluth to marry his bride Nancy. He worked for US steel for over 30 years. He also had a great love for coaching as he coached little and senior league baseball, men's and women's softball, and amateur hockey for many years. He enjoyed bocce ball and was a participant in bocce ball leagues.

Wayne was a very involved grandparent, and rarely missed a sporting event or endeavor that involved his grandkids. He joined family and traveled the circuit for many motocross and snocross races. He was an avid fan and rarely missed a hockey game that his grandkids were playing in.

He shared a passion for gardening with Nancy and they had the most beautiful flower and vegetable gardens at their home in Proctor.

Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy whom he loved and missed every day. They were married for 54 years.

Wayne is survived by his children, Keith (Jill) Leiss, Vicki Leiss, and Jill (Ross) Judnick; grandchildren, Jarrod Leiss, Nicole (Josh) Norick, Ross Judnick, Paige (Conner) Valesano, and Logan Judnick; great-grandchildren, Mylie Chesley, Lyla Judnick, and Nixxon Judnick; and his beloved cockapoo, Daisy.

His love for the Lord and his appreciation for our country and our freedom will be remembered by many. He will be greatly missed.
