Ardell Irene Skur, 78, of Hermantown, was called home to be with the Lord on March 4, 2019. She joins her husband of 39 years, Allen Skur, who passed in 2002. Ardell was born in St. Cloud to Edward and Harriet (Alvord) Walsh on December 3, 1940, and graduated from St. Cloud Cathedral high school. She worked as a secretary until they had children. Ardell loved spending time with her family at the cabin and her home in Florida. She enjoyed activities with her friends, especially playing card games, dancing, golfing, bowling, going to the casino, and playing bingo. She took joy in volunteering at the Damiano Center. Ardell was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Allen; siblings, Donna (Lyle) Gilstead, Lloyd (Betty) Opheim, Pat (Les) Ries, and Jim (Colleen) Walsh; brother-in-law, Pete Lesperance; and several nieces and nephews. Ardell is survived by her children, Carrie Haydon, Sherry (Mark) Beckman, Christy (Chris) Witcher, Lori (Paul) Sinnott, and Jeff (Becca) Skur; grandchildren, Jason Haydon, Jackie (Josh Becks) Haydon, Dan Beckman, Caitlyn (Matt) LeBlanc nee Beckman, Hunter Pouti, James Pouti, Tanner Pouti, Garret Barnard, Kaylee Sinnott, Easton Sinnott, Gus Skur, Kal Skur, and Brooks Skur; great-grandchildren, SandraJean Haydon and Zander Haydon; sister, Lorraine (Art) Stokes; brother-in-law, Norman (Faith) Skur; sister-in-law, Janet (Harvey) Wilder; many nieces and nephews; special friends, Katie and Ray Haydon; her breakfast bunch; and card club. VISITATION: 10 am on Saturday, March 9th at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, with funeral service to follow at 12 pm. Private interment at Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations preferred to the Damiano Center in Ardell's memory.
