Angeline "Angie" Aleda Swenson, 98, of Proctor, passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2022 at Diamond Willow Assisted Living in Cloquet.

Angie was born on July 12, 1923 in Holt, MN to Olga (Reirson) and John Johnson. She grew up on a homestead in Holt, MN. She met the love of her life, Loren Swenson, and they married on October 4, 1943. They raised four children and lived 60 years in their house on 5th St in Proctor, MN. They moved out of their home and into Diamond Willow in February of 2018.

Angie was an excellent cook, and spent 30 years feeding hungry patrons at various restaurants in Duluth. She loved flowers and raised amazing houseplants; she enjoyed being surrounded by their color and life. She loved her animals and watching the birds out in the gardens. Angie was vibrant and the life the party; she was feisty and told great jokes! She enjoyed camping, although it was clear that the socialization was what she was there for! Angie was an avid Minnesota sports fan, but took great delight in watching her grandchildren play hockey and baseball.

Angie was preceded in death by her husband, Loren; sons, Wayne and Darren; and siblings, Morris, Lestor, Ralph, Oliver, Lila, Jules, Viola, Vernon, Russell and Lyle.

Angie is survived by her daughters, Audrey (Bill) Berglund and Char (Steve) Reno; daughter-in-law, Suzy (Paul Lundberg) Swenson; grandchildren, Jeffrey Swenson, Mitchell (Sabrina Bjornstad) Swenson, Harry Samuelson, Noel (Suzanne) Samuelson, Lanay (Seth Kane) Samuelson, Jamey (Carrie) Reno and Adam (Lindsay) Reno; great-grandchildren, Emily Barber, Lauryn Swenson, Darien Samuelson, Karilynn Samuelson, Victor Samuelson, Thorin Kane, Aubrie Reno and Emily Reno; and sister, Ruby Moen.

The family would like to thank the staff at Diamond Willow in Cloquet and St. Croix Hospice for their loving care.

Visitation to be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 30th at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, with Funeral Service at 12:00 PM. Committal and Interment at Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery. Reception to follow at the Proctor Moose, 415 3rd Ave, Proctor.
