Andrea Susan (Groves) Augustyn, 73, of Hermantown, MN, joined Jesus in Heaven on Sunday, August 19, 2018 in Duluth. She was a lifelong member of Gethsemane Covenant Church and their Tuesday Ladies Bible Study group. She loved history and animals and was an avid quilting enthusiast. Andrea was born in Duluth September 21, 1944. She was a 1962 graduate of Hermantown High School. She received secretarial training at DBU and attended Rhema Bible Training Center in OK. She worked at AT&T, Qwest, and was a church secretary. Andrea married Walter F. Augustyn November 27, 1965 during the biggest blizzard of the season. Andrea was preceded in death by her parents, A.G. "Sam" and Doris (Gilberg) Groves of Hermantown. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Walt; daughter, Catherine of Hermantown; sister, Carolyn (Larry) Lockett of Superior, WI; cousin, Claudia (Bob) Ek of Duluth; sisters- and brothers-in-law; many nieces and nephews; and three loving cats. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, August 25th at Gethsemane Covenant Church, 4479 Ugstad Rd, Hermantown, with visitation beginning at 1 pm. Burial will follow at a later date at Sunrise Memorial Park.
