Alan Bruce Nelson, 76, of Duluth, Minnesota, passed away on Friday, September 6, 2024 at Aspirus St Luke's Hospital.

Alan was born in Duluth, Minnesota to Lloyd & Lucille Nelson on December 4, 1947. He graduated from Hermantown High School in 1965. Alan had a love for coins, watches, and the classics. His favorite pastime was sharing his knowledge and new treasures with everyone he met. His passion for his family couldn't be matched.

Alan was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Nelson; mother, Lucille Sandstrom; stepfather, Carl Sandstrom; brother, Kenneth Nelson; sister-in-law, Vivian Nelson; and nephews, Jeffrey & Timothy Nelson.

Alan is survived by his brother, Raymond Nelson; nieces, Kristin (Matt) Schultz, Brooke (Ryan) Marple, and Kelly (J.J.) Hraban; nephew, Brian (Joy) Nelson; and many cherished loved ones.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to 2 West at Aspirus St Luke's Hospital.

A Celebration of Life with family and friends will be held 12:00 – 3:00 PM on Friday, September 20th at the VFW Post 137, 501 3rd Ave, Proctor, Minnesota 55810. Memorials preferred to Hermantown Schools in loving memory of Alan.
