Obituary

Ahmad “Red” Hussain Williams, age 57, of Superior, Wisconsin, passed away on September 26, 2026, with family and friends by his side following an antibiotic-resistant infection and end-stage heart failure.

Ahmad “Red” is now in heaven with God, family, and many friends.

Ahmad was born on November 25, 1968, as the eldest of twins in New York City to Jewell D. Floyd and Bobby Gene Williams. He was born in Queens, New York, and grew up in Flushing, Queens, as a proud New Yorker.

Ahmad graduated from Jamaica High School and went on to pursue his passion for food at the Institute of Culinary Education in New York. Years later, that passion led him to work locally at Applebee’s and Olive Garden.

Ahmad married the love of his life, Repeka-Lynn Tuinei-Williams, on August 16, 2013. They met at Stargate Night Club, now called The Boardroom in Superior, more than 20 years ago. They later celebrated their wedding reception there and remained together ever since.

At the heart of Ahmad “Red’s” life were family and friends. He created countless memories with his wife, Repeka-Lynn; daughter, Renaeah-Lynn; stepsons, Ethan and Evan; sister, Carlotta Ane’th Williams-Watts; brother, Grady “Sweeney” Steed; and many other family members and friends.

Music was an important part of Ahmad’s life. He was involved with the bands Wasted Generation, Tempted Fate, and Stone, as well as acoustic performances with Andy Hauswirth. “Red” was a big part of Hollowtone’s upbringing, helping the group become a local hit band. He also enjoyed bike nights at Birds Bar, breakdancing, and being a member of the legendary Rock Steady Crew in the 1980s.

Ahmad “Red” was preceded in death by his parents, Jewell D. Floyd and Bobby Gene Williams; his sister, Linda Murphy; and his stepfather, Chester Hubert Henville.

He is survived by his loving wife, Repeka-Lynn Tuinei-Williams; daughter, Renaeah-Lynn Williams; stepsons, Ethan Wearing and Evan Wearing; siblings, Carlotta Ane’th Williams-Watts and Grady “Sweeney” Steed; and nieces and nephews, Lakeisha Murphy, Charles Murphy, Latoya Olgesby, Clarissa Patterson (Robert), Crysta Sanchez, Caryna Sanchez, Chania Watts, Ciara Watts, Micheal Watts, and Malachi Watts.

He is also survived by great-nieces and great-great-nephews, Shataea, Shadae, Tai’jih, Keira, Onias, Cameron, Olivia, Jace, Maison, King, Egypt, Ni’ziyah, Zamani Murphy, Mazuri and Makari Munford, Tai’jih Tyler, Supreme Bryant, Is’mael Richardson, and Danyael Murphy; beloved cousins, Michael, James Crowell, Shavone, Charles, Raheem, Sharlane, June, and Herbert; along with a host of other relatives, brothers and sisters in Christ, members of the motorcycle community, friends in the music industry, and many friends who loved him dearly.

One loved one expressed the depth of that bond beautifully:

"Ahmad was a part of my heartbeat, my true soul partner, and I will miss him every day."

Ahmad’s memory will live on through his family and friends, the stories they share, and the countless lives he touched throughout his journey from New York City to Superior, Wisconsin.

He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
