Adeline "Addie" Ruth Taylor, 97, of Duluth, passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2018, with family by her side. She was born in Maple Hill, MN to Osborn & Elsie Ellquist on September 3, 1920. She married Douglas Taylor on August 24, 1946 and together they raised a family in Lakewood. Addie stayed active in her local community in the Lakewood PTA, Lakewood Fire Department Auxillary, American Legion Auxillary, Nu-Agers, Homesteaders, Homemakers and was a member of the New Hope Lutheran Church. She loved bowling, creating beautiful needlework pieces, making "that cake", gardening, and sewing. Addie was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Douglas; grandson, Aaron Taylor; and brothers, Omer and Roger. Addie is survived by her children, Bruce (Bev), Connie (Nancy Hoeft), Steve (Barb), and Cliff (Cindy); grandchildren, Tammy, Mindy, Jamie, Kyle, Dan, and Brian; 2 great-grandchildren, Russell IV and baby-on-the-way; siblings, Millie, Kathy, Chuck and Stan; many nieces and nephews. Special thank you to the staff at New Perspective Betty's Harbor in Superior and the St. Mary's Superior hospice team. Small family funeral service to be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, August 22nd at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, with visitation a half hour prior.
