Stanley "Stan" Richard Koski, 85, of Duluth, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, January 4, 2018.
Stan attended school in Duluth Central Highschool. He finished his Master's Degree at the University of Minnesota. He worked as a social worker for the school board for many years. He served in the Air Force and was stationed in France part of the time. He was united in marriage to Jean Mary Dolan on August 31, 1957. Together they raised three kids, living in St. Paul briefly before returning to Duluth in 1966.
Stan enjoyed family/friends gatherings. He loved sports (Minnesota Twins, Vikings, UMD Bulldogs, and many, many more). Among his favorite things to do was going for a country drive in northern Wisconsin and driving up to see his daughter at Fish Lake. He loved taking people out for a nice meal at a restaurant - always paying the tab (He would always tell the waiter or waitress right away, "Give me the check."). He also enjoyed remodeling his home. He was a perfectionist. He enjoyed helping others by just visiting or giving financial help. He was a very generous person to family, friends, and charities. He had faith in the Lord which was prevalent in his works. He was described by many as extremely helpful, loving, and passionate. He will be dearly missed by many people.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Jean; siblings Erland and Esther.
Stan is survived by his daughter Carol (Steve) Simonson, two sons Michael (Ness) Koski, and William (Holly) Koski; and his siblings Ron, Elaine, and Elsie.
