SoJa Lee Lind, 55, of Barnum, passed away on May 1, 2019 at St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth, MN after a 4 year battle with cancer. She is no longer in pain and is free from disease.
SoJa was born on October 12, 1963 to Mary (SoJa Chae) and Sonny (Raymond) Newman in Moose Lake, Minnesota. She graduated from Willow River high school. She worked most of her adult life at Mattson and Wiens in Forest Lake and after they retired she went on to work for Esterbrooks in Duluth. SoJa enjoyed camping, fishing, movies, cooking and spending time with her daughters and all the rest of her family and friends.
One of her favorite places to be was out at the cabin. She spent all her extra time here in the summer and enjoyed sitting in the sun with a bloody beer in her hand.
SoJa was kind, funny, smart, strong and an amazing soul. She will be greatly missed by everyone around her. She was a light in this dark world and things will never be the same without her.
She is preceded in death by her parents SoJa and Raymond Newman, and her brother Brady Newman. She is survived by her daughters Briana Lind and Kayla Lind, her long time partner Robert Lehikoinen, her sister Lisa Grimm (Todd) of Moose Lake, MN, and brother Brett Newman of Blaine, MN. Also many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
There will be a celebration of life at a later date to be announced.
