Norma Mousky Obituary
Norma Serene (Mann) Mousky, 82, of Hermantown, passed away on Monday, October 22, 2018, in Solvay Hospice House.
Norma was born in Minneapolis to Harlie and Myrtle (Matson) Mann on May 15, 1936. She graduated from Bloomington High School in 1954. On Feb. 11, 1956 she married the love of her life, George Mousky. Norma worked at Benson Optical Abrahamson's Hearing Aides, then at JC Penney's Custom Decorating for many years. She loved decorating, which probably explains why she and George had so many houses over the years. Norma volunteered for 15 years at the BHC Gift Shop. She was also an active member of Mt Olive Lutheran Church for 50 years.
Norma is preceded in death by her husband, who passed away this past June, George; and her parents.
Norma is survived by her daughters, Jean (Michael) Van Kessel and Laurie (Donald) King; grandchildren, Matt (Amy) King, Gina King, Harry (Jill) Van Kessel, Luke Van Kessel and Robert King; great-grandchildren, Megan, Alex, Preston, Sydney and Hailey; sister, Muriel Barrett; cousin, Gar (Brenda) Matson; niece, Karen Chanda; and nephew, Dan (Robin) Clark.
VISITATION: 11 am on Tuesday, October 30th at Mt Olive Lutheran Church, 2012 E. Superior St., with memorial service to follow at 12 pm.
The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Tim Kleinschmidt for his exceptional care he gave Norma, which gave them an additional 16 years with her. Special thanks to St. Luke's and Essentia Hospices, Solvay Hospice House, as well as all their friends at Perkins and Bridgeman's Restaurants in Duluth.
