Justin Schlies Obituary
Justin Lee Schlies, 38, of Hayward, WI succumbed to his injuries from an ATV accident on September 4, 2018. Justin died doing what he loved. Justin was born in Park Falls, WI on November 3rd, 1979 - "just in" time to miss his dad's birthday by 3 hours and 35 minutes. Justin graduated from Duluth Central High School in 1998. After high school Justin worked in a variety of roles; from working in a kitchen, to behind a karaoke machine, to under a vehicle in a shop or his garage, and everywhere in between.
Justin had to have all the big toys. If it had a motor, he needed to see how fast it could go. He loved the outdoors. If he wasn't fishing he was thinking about fishing. "Fish are biting!" he would say.
He is preceded in death by his father, Johnny Schlies; brother, Timothy Schlies; grandparents, Joseph and Arlene Schlies (Pfeffer) and Clarice Warren (Dale); and uncle, Joseph Schlies.
He is survived by his mother, Kimberly Schlies (Warren); sister, Breanne (Evan) Tepler; nieces, Alyssa, Ava and Anya; nephew, Christopher; Ashton and "Jellybean"; and grandparents, Ardell and Kathy Warren.
Visitation will be held at 1pm on Wednesday, September 12th at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, with service at 2 pm. Burial will follow at Sunrise.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the medical staff at Essentia Health's Neuro ICU for their compassion, and to the first responders and the many agencies involved in bringing Justin home.
