Julie Ann "Amma" Fronden, 53, of Duluth, passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 20, 2019 while on vacation.
Julie was born in Duluth, Minnesota to Charles and Marcia Swanson on July 19, 1965. She attended Central High School and graduated in 1983. Shortly after, in 1984, she married her soulmate and best friend, Jon Fronden. Soon she became a gentle, nurturing, and protective mom of two - fulfilling her passion for children. She continued to spread laughter and joy in the workplace for the Duluth Public Schools as a lunch lady, and First Plan of Minnesota for several years. Her career took a backseat to her next great adventure, being an Amma to her beautiful grandkids. The love she carried was too great for just family, so she shared it with the world again in the lunch room and for Northland Constructors. She lived life with a smile; whether it was doing arts and crafts, playing puzzles and games, or gardening and being outdoors. Her laugh could fill a room and she loved to travel and see the country, particularly the Gulf of Mexico.
Julie was preceded in death by her parents; parents-in-law, Martin and Lillian; grandbabies, Lily and Aaron; and nephew, Hunter.
Julie is survived by her husband, Jon; children, Alyssa and Jacob (Elaina); grandchildren, Ava, Arya and one on the way; siblings, Bob, Wendy and Chuck; along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all of our family and friends for the outpouring of love and support.
