JoAnn Wargin Obituary
JoAnn Karen Wargin, 52, of Hermantown, passed away at home with her family by her side on Sunday, June 17, 2018.
JoAnn was born in Cloquet, MN to Oris and Adeline Hanson. She graduated from Carlton High School in 1984. She worked as a waitress at Junction Oasis, Gallagher's, and Olive Garden over the course of 30 years. For the last couple years, she worked at Hermantown Schools as a Bus Aide / Playground Supervisor, and JoAnn enjoyed all the children she worked with.
JoAnn enjoyed raising her beautiful family on the Wargin dairy farm. She appreciated the simple pleasures in life and loved spending time with and getting to know everyone she met. She took pride in maintaining her yard, gardens, and keeping her family fed; she was an excellent cook. She loved taking walks, taking trips, going to country music concerts, sporting events, and ending her summers with an annual trip to the Minnesota State Fair. Her grandkids always brought a smile to her face. She had a beauty that shone from the inside out.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her father, Oris; brother, Kenneth; and great-nephew, Ezra.
JoAnn is survived by her mother, Adeline; husband of 30 years, Dean; children, Angela (Ben) Altonen, Koby (Caroline) Wargin, Alyssa (Zach Bauers) Wargin, and Haley Wargin; grandchildren, Braelyn, Dixon, and Alexandria; siblings, Diane (Bill) Hollenbeck, Duane (Lynn) Hanson, and Barb (Stu) Green; and many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Dr. Daniel Nikcevich and the staff at Essentia 9 West and the team at Mayo; Dr. Randy Marks, Dr. Jamie Bakkum-Gamez and a special thanks to our family friend, Nurse Jamie Sohlstrom, for all their exceptional care for JoAnn.
The family would also like to thank the community for their on-going prayers and support.
