Joan LaFontaine Obituary
Joan Sandra LaFontaine, 83, of Duluth, passed away on January 8th 2020 in St. Luke's Hospital.
Joan was born on January 12th 1936 to Rudolph and Ruth Berg. She graduated from Denfeld High School in 1954. She worked at Duluth National Bank until she met and married Albert LaFontaine together they raised a family in Duluth at which time she became a Homemaker. Joan was a "champion" of many things, including horse shoes, ice skating, and her favorite, cribbage. Joan didn't have a filter, she said it like it was. She was very feisty and extremely stubborn, but very caring, thoughtful, and had a heart of gold. She loved to pick on everyone.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and siblings, Robert "Buck" Berg, Shirley (Bill) Miller, Jim (Margret) Berg, Nancy "Toots" Anderson, and Donald (Pat) Berg.
Joan is survived by her children, Ricky, Douglas (Kim), David (Jodi), Paul (Jen), and Karen (Gene) Stevens; grandchildren, Michelle, Wade, Nicole (Dillon), Tiffany, Adam (Chelsea), Jimmy, Bobby (Luke) McCarthy, and Linda Stevens; great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Landon, Emma, Maci, and Taylor; sister, Jean "Honey" Heltne; brother-in-law, Harold Anderson; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
VISITATION: 11am on Thursday, January 16th at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, with funeral services to follow at 12pm.
