Douglas High Obituary

Douglas N. High, 71, of Duluth, died on Sunday, June 17, 2018, surrounded by his family.
Doug was born June 29, 1946, in Duluth to Eric E. and Gladys (Nordstrom) High.
He was a 1964 graduate of Duluth Central High School. After briefly attending the University of Minnesota Duluth, he enlisted in the United States Army. He spent his military services overseas, starting with 18 months in Ludwigsburg, Germany followed by 18 months in Nha Trang, Vietnam where he was awarded a Bronze Star for service.
Doug enjoyed a career in industrial sales, calling on the mining industry, wood products industries, and paper plants throughout northern Minnesota, Wisconsin, and upper Michigan, retiring in 2008 after 36 years with W.P.&R.S. Mars Co.
Doug loved to play golf and participated in leagues at Enger and Lester Park.
In August 1970, Doug married Cheryl K. Buehre and together they raised 3 children.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ron and Wayne; and son-in-law, Kevin Baron.
Doug is survived by his wife, Cheryl; children, Cinde Baron (Brian) Erickson of Denver, CO, Eric (Kortney) Douglas of Green Bay, WI, and Emily Elizabeth of Duluth, MN; beautiful grandchildren, Ethan and Khloe; sister, Marlene (Thomas) Stauber of Duluth, MN; brother, Raymond of Denver, CO; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
At Doug's request, no service will be held.
