Carol Ann "Sweet Cheeks" Kowalik, 58, of Duluth, Minnesota, passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Essentia Medical Center with family and friends at her side.
She was born in Duluth on March 26, 1960 to John Kowalik and Evelyn (Root) Kowalik.
Carol went back to school and got her GED. She graduated from Cosmetology Careers Unlimited and worked at many places within the areas a stylist. She continued on to Duluth Technical College withdrawing from Medical Secretary, and graduated in 1992 as a Certified Nursing Assistant - Long Term Care working as a caregiver through-out the area.
She was known on the CB radio back in the day as Sweet Cheeks.
She was a talented crafter with hobbies of knitting, crocheting, sewing, and beading. She loved her music and visits over for coffee.
She was a member of the Lincoln Park Citizens Patrol.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, John and Evelyn Kowalik; and oldest niece, Terri Lynn Kreminski.
Carol is survived by her son, Bryan (Jessica Nelson) Kowalik; daughter, Andrea (James Champa) Kowalik; sisters, Barbara (Jim) Kreminski and Dorothy (John) Huotari; niece, Rose (Derek Amborn) Kreminski, Madisyn and Ryan; grandchildren, Alexia Champa, Abbygail Champa, Chase Champa-Kowalik, Arianna Garrett, Athena Garrett, and Alice Garrett; foster mother, Mariann Ross; dog, Gizmo; cat, Sprinkles; and longtime friends, Randy Scott and David Evensen.
Memorial service will be held at 2pm on Friday, August 17th at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, Hermantown. Burial will follow at Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Doctors and Caregivers, and many others that shared their love, support and prayers.
Carol loved her family and friends dearly people and animals. She was a loving mom who dearly loved her grandkids.
She will be dearly missed.
