Bruce Henry Holm, 72, of Duluth MN, passed away on June 4th, 2019 after an 8 month long battle with cancer. He was the oldest child of Henry and Helen (Saukko) Holm and was born in Moose Lake, MN on April 4th 1947.
He was raised in Kettle River, MN, graduated from Barnum HS in 1965 and from UMD in 1969. Bruce was a school teacher in Michigan and Minnesota for more than 40 years before retiring from ISD 709 in 2013. He also coached and was a referee for football, basketball, baseball, softball and volleyball during his teaching career.
He was a retired member of the Army Reserve serving in the 477th and the 5501st medical units. He also served on active duty during Operation Desert Storm in 1991.
He was a member of the Euclid Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, AAD Shrine, Commemorative Air force, Solomon Lodge of Moose Lake and the Elks Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Gail.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Carol. His daughters Lisa Holm, Kadee (Jamison) Wilcox. Mother in law Burnell Prudhomme, Brother Eric Holm and Grandchildren Jake, Ethan, Collin, Lexie and Tyler. He is also survived by brothers and sisters in law, numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.
Visitation will be on Sunday June 9th at 1:00 pm with a celebration of life following at 2:00 pm at The Duluth Masonic Lodge 4 W 2nd St. Duluth, Minnesota 55802
