Willis “Dick” Kintigh, 91, of Superior, passed away March 2, 2024 at Twin Ports Health and Rehab after a long battle with Congestive Heart Failure.
Dick was born in Cloverton, MN on August 28, 1932 to Frank and Hazel Kintigh on their family farm. He honorably served his country from 1952-1955, a veteran of the Korean War. His great joy in life was raising his 3 children from his first marriage. He worked for Paper-Calmenson and Harvest States Grain Elevator in Superior. In 2003 he married the love of his life, Alberta, and they enjoyed several happy years together.
Dick had a very kind and gentle spirit and was a true family man, beloved father, husband, grandfather, uncle, and brother. Dick was an avid Green Bay Packers and Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed tinkering and spending time in nature. The opportunities he had to travel during his retirement years brought him much joy, as did his interactions with his grandchildren. He loved spending time with them and watching them grow into young adults.
Dick was preceded in death by his loving wife, Alberta; sisters, Alice Dye and Jessie Dabbs; and brother, Frank “Tom” Kintigh.
Dick is survived by his children, Bill (Brenda) Peters, Sarah (Kent) Wallack and Patti (Chris) Baraks; grandchildren, Jenifer (Pete) Prado, Gina Santiago, Travis, Zachary and Sarah Peters, Greta, Rachel and August Baraks, and Seth and Katie Wallack; step-children, Daniel Johnson-Wilmot, Mary (Henry) Gnoza, Sandy Quam, and Jane Borske; nieces, Regina and Marianne Dabbs, Nancy and Susan Samuelson, and Norma (Rick) Hill; nephews, Jim (Debbie) Dabbs, John, Mike and Eric (Holly) Samuelson; along with other extended family members.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Twin Ports Health and Essentia Hospice for their care.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
