RaeAnn (Kangas) Carlson

RaeAnn Carlson, 64, of Hermantown, MN, passed away at Essentia Health on March 8, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Duluth, MN on February 25, 1960, to Raymond and Nita (Carli) Kangas. She Graduated from Central High School in 1978. RaeAnn married Scott Carlson on April 16, 1983.

In high school, RaeAnn enjoyed playing basketball, running track, and participating in the school band. She worked at Glass Block and Country Lanes North with her husband, Scott.

RaeAnn loved socializing with her many friends and caring for those around her. She cherished her time with her family, especially her grandsons, who she deeply loved. She was a dedicated member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Duluth Heights.

RaeAnn was preceded in death by her parents.

RaeAnn is survived by her husband, Scott Carlson; son, Darrin (Anna) Carlson; daughter, Kristina Carlson; grandsons, Jaxton and Briggs Carlson; and sister, Wendy (John) Mesich.

RaeAnn will be greatly missed by all.

An extra special thanks to the Oncology Unit at Essentia Health Duluth, Dr. Friday, Tom Warden, Oncology at Mayo Clinic Rochester, Dr. Mehrdad Hefazi Torghabeh, and all the nurses and doctors for their amazing care.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, March 14th at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 151 W Linden St, Duluth, with Mass following at 11:00 AM. Interment at Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery.
