Kim Sorensen Obituary

On March 14, 2024, Kim Allan Sorensen died unexpectedly in his home at the age of 70. Kim was born on June 3, 1953 in Superior, Wisconsin. He graduated from Superior Senior High School in 1971. He went on to several adventures in his early adult life, one of which was a hitch-hiking trip all the way to Alaska with his childhood best friend, Tom Ross. He later went on too build up a very successful construction business building custom homes.

He married his wife Lisa in 1986 and they spent their life together, from the first date of horseback riding to the last days of his life in the countryside of Wascott, Wisconsin. They welcomed their first child, Gregory, in 1986, their second child, Jacob, in 1987, and their third child, Jessica, in 1992.

Kim had a lengthy list of accomplishments in his life and anyone who knows Kim knows that he had a passion for hunting and fishing. He had many successful hunts from Alaska all the way to Africa.

He taught his children and his grandchildren how to be successful in hunting and fishing. He shared his knowledge and talents for building with his two sons, and went on to help them build their own homes.

Kim was well known in his church circle for being helpful and encouraging, as well as assertive and outspoken. He was never afraid to speak up about his beliefs and faith. His passion for his faith was something he held very tightly to and was not hesitant to share it with others. This admirable trait led him to serve the town of Wascott in his later years.

Lastly, but most importantly to Kim, along with his love for the Lord, was his love for his family. Kim was a loving husband, a wonderful father, an exceptional grandfather to his nine grandchildren, and a faithful child of God. He was very involved in the lives of his precious grandchildren and could be found attending school functions, sporting events, and any opportunity he had to be a part of their lives. They will remember their hunting and fishing trips with papa, the many adventures he took them on, and most of all, the way he taught them to live with integrity.

Kim was the ultimate trusted friend, neighbor, sibling, husband, father, papa, and mentor; ready to defend all things righteous and true with love, grace, determination and steadfastness that only his God, Creator, and Savior could provide. He built a legacy that will live on for many generations to come.

Kim is survived by the love of his life, Lisa; children, Gregory (Katlyn), Jacob (Jessica), and Jessica (Theodore); grandchildren, Alexis, Jewelia, Brody, Stetson, Redd, Arrow, Beau, Liam, and Grayson; and his siblings, Ken, Kirk, Cathi, Kerri, and Kris.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert; mother, Shirley; and older sister, Carol.
