Joan Asperheim Obituary

Joan Elizabeth Asperheim, 82, of Shawnee, Kansas and beloved wife of Dale R. Asperheim, passed away on Monday July 16th, 2018.
Joan was born in Duluth, Minnesota on November 5, 1935 to James (Gordy) and Clara Mitchell. She was a graduate of Denfeld High School and attended Duluth Business School. She was a member of Graceway church in Raytown, MO. Joan's life was a ministry of love as she invested her life in others. Her love for the Lord Jesus Christ and God's Word formed the foundation of her daily walk fortified by a deep faith and many active ministries at church. She was a wonderful woman, wife, mom, grandmother, and homemaker. Joan took great joy in raising her three children and she leaves a legacy of unconditional love for her family and friends. She greatly enjoyed the opportunity to have family and friends in her home where she could love on them with many kindnesses, wonderful meals, and tremendous homemade desserts too varied to describe.
Joan is survived by her husband of 62 years, Dale; children, Scott (Ann) Asperheim of Leawood, KS, Christine (Peter) Cristiano of Lansing, KS, and Richard (Paula) Asperheim of Newcastle, OK; grandchildren, Michelle (Austin) Gillard of Clay Center, KS, Elizabeth (Jimmy) Allen of Kansas City, MO, Katie (Mike) McSweeney of Topeka, KS, Jessica Asperheim of Lewisville, TX, and Cale Asperheim of Norman, OK; great-grandchildren Gavin and Ella Gillard; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends.
