Eric Robert Klang, 52, of Duluth, MN, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at St. Luke's Hospital after a valiant fight with mantle cell lymphoma.
Eric was born in Pottstown, PA, to Robert and Dolores Klang on April 24, 1965. He went to high school at VL Reishus High School in Biwabik and graduated in 1983. He went on to earn degrees in both Biology and Physical Therapy from UMD. He worked as a PCA for Cherish, LLC., of Hibbing, for several years. He worked at Target for 25 years and briefly at ChiChi's restaurant after high school. Eric never lost his inner child and enjoyed being a fun Uncle to his beloved nephews, Dalton and Remi. Eric was interested in everything political, and was often a conservative guest on Lew Lotto's morning radio show. He had a scathing wit, loved the outdoors, giving advice to everyone, and often served holiday meals at the local soup kitchen.
Eric was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, John & Edith "Vickie" Klang and Thomas & Evelyn Rian; and his "adopted" grandfather, Edward Bartell.¬¬¬
Eric is survived by his sister, Kirsten (Bill Stone) Klang; nephews, Dalton Fitch and Remington Stone; uncle, James (Maryellen) Klang; aunt, Mary (Wes) Milsten; and numerous cousins who brought Eric many happy memories of his childhood with family.
Per Eric's request, no funeral is to be held, however a Final Toast to Eric will be planned after the holidays.
The family wishes to extend special gratitude to oncologist, Dr. Basem Goueli of St. Luke's and his staff for giving Eric more time to enjoy his nephews.
