Craig Louis Simonson

Craig Louis Simonson, 69, of Hermantown, went home to be with the Lord, with his wife by his side, on Saturday, June 2, 2018, at Essentia Health Duluth. Craig was born in Duluth, MN to Lyle and Florayne Simonson on Sept. 9, 1948. He went to Hermantown High School and graduated in 1966. He attended UMD. He was a trusted and respected service advisor for several car dealerships through the years. After retiring from the car business, he started driving truck for the mail service to the range.

Craig enjoyed the outdoors; fishing, hunting, dirt track car races, and collecting cars. He was a sports fanatic, especially when it came to his grandkids events. You could always see him at Hermantown football, basketball, and soccer games. He was an active member of New Life Lutheran Church.

Craig was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Dyana.

Craig is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Diana; children, Lonnie (Lisa), Pamela (Brian) Hahs and Erik; grandchildren, Wyatt, Wayne, Griffin, Brayden, Maverick, Reed, Brooklyn and Corbin; mother-in-law, Josiane Borglund; and siblings, Gary (Bobbi), Sharon (Mark), Brad, Randy (Ann), Karyn (Steve), and Kris.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Daniel Nikcevich and the Essentia Health Oncology unit, especially the staff on 9 West.

VISITATION: 2pm on Friday, June 8th at Grace Lutheran Church, 5454 Miller Trunk Hwy, Hermantown, with a memorial service to follow at 3pm.
