Chester (Chet) Hanson, 83, of Saginaw, MN passed away peacefully on Monday, December 11, 2017 at St. Luke's Hospital.
Chet was born in Duluth, MN, on March 20, 1934, to Elmer and Kate Hanson. He married Gloria Kohs on Oct. 5, 1956 in Duluth. Chet served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958. He was self-employed as a mink rancher all his working years.
Chet was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; a son, Brian, in 2013; and grandson, Craig.
Chet is survived by his wife of 61 years, Gloria; son, Kevin (Tracey); grandson, Taylor; granddaughter, Tiffany; brothers-in-law, Ken Kohs of TX, and Lyle (Barb) Kohs of MT; and several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt "thank-you" to Dr. Plachta of St. Luke's for the excellent care given to Chet over many years, as well as his nurse, Lisa, who always put a smile on Chet's face.
To honor Chet's wishes, there will be no memorial service. Arrangements entrusted to Sunrise Funeral Home.
