Stanley Bloomberg, 79, of Duluth, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2016. Stan graduated from Duluth Central High School in 1957 where he played football and sang in a quartet. Stan worked at Sammy's Pizza off and on over the years. He was a teacher in the Duluth Schools for 22 years, teaching Restaurant Cooking & Baking at the Secondary Technical Center. He loved getting together with family and friends. Stan also enjoyed traveling after retiring. Stan was a member of LAL. Stan is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Oscar; sisters, Bernyce Bowie and Barbara Roberts; and father-in-law, Basil Olson. Stan is survived by his wife, Sandy; daughter, Holly (Erik) Simonson; son, Bob (Lora) Bloomberg; stepdaughters, Lydia (Wayne) Jordahl, Michelle (Lyle) Dunaiski, and Renee (Rusty) Wise; stepson, Mark (Jodi) Hill; 12 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Audrey Smith and Annette Besvold; mother-in-law, Alvina Olson; sister-in-law, Kathy (Dave) Toelcke; brother-in-law, John (Paula) Olson; and many nieces, nephews, and good friends. VISITATION: 1pm Wed. Nov. 9th at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Highway, Hermantown, with service to follow at 2pm.
