Ronald Carlson Obituary

Ronald David Carlson, 72, of Esko, MN, passed away peacefully on Sept. 26, 2016. He was born on April 26, 1944 in Duluth, MN. He graduated from Duluth Central High School in 1963. He then joined the Army and served in Hanow, Germany from 1964 to 1967. Ron married his wife, Vickie, in 1985. Ron recently retired from school bus driving for the Esko school district. He loved the children and was affectionately known as "R.C." Ron also worked as an independent Insurance Broker. Ron's beloved hobbies included hunting, fishing, camping, bowling, and playing cribbage. He was a member of Nemadji Mens Golf League for many years. Ron also raced Sprint Cars for 26 years in the local dirt track circuit. Ron was preceded in death by his father, Gordon Carlson.   Ron is survived by his mother, Florence Carlson; wife, Vickie; children, Wendy Carlson, Kelsi (Lucas) Lilliberg, Kara Carlson, and Mitchel Carlson; grandchildren, Asher and Declan Lilliberg; brothers, Richard (Sherry) Carlson, Marvin (Joanne) Carlson, and Duane (Diane) Carlson; and many nieces and nephews. Ron will be greatly missed by many friends and family who loved him greatly.   VISITATION: 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 3, with a memorial service to follow at 11 a.m. at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, Hermantown.
