Richard Johnson Obituary

Richard "Dick" Dennis Johnson, 84, of Hermantown, slipped away to heaven as the hospice pastor read Psalm 23 on Wednesday, April 18, 2018.

Dick was born at home in Colfax Township near New London, MN to Markus "Eugene" and Anna A. Johnson on September 19, 1933. He attended Belgrade and graduated in 1951. He served two years in the U.S. Army.

Dick worked in the floor covering business all his working years, eventually starting his own business with his son.

Dick attended Hermantown Community Church and served on the deacon board. He was a faithful follower of Christ and was a prayer warrior with his wife and good friends, Al and Marilyn.

Family was precious to Dick. He and his wife hosted many family gatherings and routinely traveled to the New London area to visit relatives.
Dick loved living on Fish Lake and enjoyed pontoon rides, fishing, and camping.

Those who knew Dick will always remember his grin and cheerful nature.

Dick was preceded in death by wife, Del; and his two adopted sons, Michael and Rodney.

Dick is survived by his son, Vincent; grandson, Travis; 4 grandchildren in Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Tim and Bobby Jo from Hermantown Valley Elder Care and the Essentia Hospice staff for their wonderful care of Dick during his last days.
