Mary K. Franklin was born October 2, 1942, in Superior, WI to Willard & Hariett (Geddert) McCauley. She passed away on March 30, 2017, at Richmond Healthcare in Kansas. Mary was a wonderful mother, grandmother, caregiver, teacher, and friend. She graduated from Central High in JuneĀ 1960, and married George Franklin later that month. Mary accepted the LORD as her personal Savior in 1974, and was a member of Twin Ports Baptist Church for 30+ years. She worked at Twin Ports Baptist School for 12 years as a teacher & office manager. Her beloved students still remember her fondly. In 1989, she went back into nursing at St. Francis in the Park and worked there as a CNA for 20 years. She was known as an advocate for the residents and other nurses. She retired in 2009, and spent her retired years in Kansas enjoying her family, traveling, and making new friends. Mary's family always came first in her life, after that she was the most proud of her work. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, George Franklin; parents, Willard & Harriet (Geddert) McCauley; step-father, Robert Soulier; and brother, Edmund McCauley. Mary is survived by her children, Rosalyn (Jeff) Larson, George (Kathy) Franklin, and Roxanne (John) Williams; grandchildren, Jason Larson, Amanda Larson, and Jacob Williams; siblings, James McCauley, Joanne Anderson, Janice Bowers, Charlotte (Stewart) VandeZande, John (Sandy) McCauley, Stephanie (Cemal Caglar) Mete; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. VISITATION: 1 p.m. Saturday, April 8th at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, Hermantown, with funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials welcomed to the Twin Ports Baptist School in Mary's name.
