Juanita "Bunny" (Ege) Olsen Kammerman, a gifted painter, professional secretary, and homemaker, has died at age 91, surrounded by loving family. Mrs. Kammerman spent most of her life in Duluth, living also in Fridley and Isle MN and later in Washington State. Born in 1925, Juanita graduated from Central HS in 1943. She married Duluthian Raymond Allen Olsen after his return from WWII and had two children, Kathleen and Barb Olsen. Juanita worked as a secretary for many years, including for Duluth's Board of Education and the Congdon Family. Juanita later remarried, to her husband of more than 40 years, Joel Kammerman, and became an accomplished oil painter, creating scenes of Minnesota wildlife and sites like Split Rock Lighthouse. Displaying her work in many art shows, Juanita was also a dedicated bowl painter for Duluth's Empty Bowl fundraiser. Juanita was preceded in death by her parents Bardolf and Petra Ege, sisters Thelma Andler and Naomi ("Toots") Anderson, brother Clifford ("Sonny") Eggen, her husband Joel, and her beloved daughter Kathleen Olsen. Juanita's memory will live on in her daughter Barb, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as well as her nieces, nephews, and friends, all of whom she graced with her smile, inspired art work, home-cooked meals, and extra loving attention, often in life when they needed it most. VISITATION: 10 am Friday, August 4th at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, Hermantown, with a memorial service to follow at 11 am.
