Jean LaFavor Obituary

Jean Mae LaFavor   Jean Mae LaFavor, 87, of Duluth passed away November 11, 2015 with her twin sister Joyce by her side. Jean had been a resident of Keystone Bluffs. Jean was born in Blackduck, MN to Cleon and Mary (Randolph) Baker on May 5, 1928. She attended Blackduck High School and moved to the Twin Ports during WWII. Jean was a supervisor in Food Services at UMD and retired in 1992. Jean always put family and friends first. She enjoyed cooking, crafts, and always had a special place helping others. She and Joyce wintered in Arizona for many years after retirement. Her strong Christian faith was her drive for being an active member of Lincoln Park Community Church (formerly Temple Baptist) for many years. Jean will be deeply missed by family, friends, her twin sister Joyce, whom she lived with for over 50 years, and her helping neighbors Kay Sehnke, and Barb and Lilli Angell. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Mary (Earl) Olson, and brother Allyn. Survivors include her twin sister, Joyce Baker of Duluth; nephews Gerry (Peggy) Olson of Loveland, CO and Greg (Joey) Olson of Duluth; great niece Erin Olson and great nephew Jesse Olson (Casey) of Colorado, and three great great nieces Payton Chavez, Preslee Chavez, and Avery Olson. The family would like to thank the staff of Keystone Bluffs for the excellent care she received while residing there. A graveside celebration of life will be held at a later date.
