James Francis Walsh Sr. 72 of Duluth Mn died July 25, 2015 after a long hard fought battle with heart & lung disease. Born in Bridgeport Conn. Raised in Scranton Pa. At the age of 17 joined the USCG and retired after 20 yrs of service as Bowsonmate Master Chief. His first duty station was CG base Duluth in 1961. he met the love of his life Lynn Anne Royer and where married 53 yrs. Other duty stations in those 20 yrs. Split Rock, Duluth Entry, cutter Woodrush. Battle Creek, Milwaukee Cape May and Philadelphia as supervising officer of Pa, Delaware, N.J. Recruiting He moved back to Duluth in 1986. Worked at Taco Johns as manager/ supervisor of 4 units 1986-1992. Worked at Food & Fuel as asst. manager 1993. became administrator of Moose lodge 505 1993-1995 until health issues intervened he was preceded in death by Parents Joseph and Margaret (Carden) Walsh, nephew Shawn Walsh of Pa. Jerry and Evelyn (Loubek) Royer Duluth, son Daniel Nov. 24,2014 Chicago. He is survived by his wife Lynn (Royer) Walsh, James (Lisa) Jr., Richard, Jon, Kari (Craig) Loisel, Peggy Walsh special friend Jack Harmon all of Duluth. Mary Johnson Joseph (Shirley), Richard (Debra) Walsh, Margaret (Robert) Kennedy. Pa 11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren. He will be forever missed always in our hearts. Service will be held at Sunrise Funeral Home with Military honors on Friday Aug 14, 2015 at 5 pm with visitation 1 hour before service.
