Edward Eide Obituary

Edward T. Eide, age 87 of Silver Bay, passed away on January 30, 2016, at St. Luke's Hospital. He was born on April 25, 1928, to John and Evelyn Eide. Edward grew up in Schroeder, MN. He joined the United States Army and served during the Korean conflict. After his time in the service, Edward worked for Hunkin Construction Company and later for Reserve Mining, retiring in 1985. He enjoyed traveling, polka music, and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Edward was a member of the American Legion Post # 187 and Minnesota Trappers Association. Edward is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Kenneth Eide; and grandson, Daniel Kinnear. Edward is survived by his children, Ramona Eide, Ellen (Paul) Hanson, Edward J. (Kim) Eide, Claudia Mills; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; brothers, Lawrence (Betty) Eide, Richard (Doris) Eide, Vernon (Joanne) Eide; sisters, Lucille (Charlie) Nelson, Julie Ann Coppersmith; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 4th, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Sunrise Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
