Doug Livingston, 60, of Duluth, passed on Wed. Aug. 31 in his home. Doug was born in Duluth March 27,1956 to Bob and Connie Livingston. Doug was a lifelong learner, graduating from Duluth East High School with honors, pursuing two undergraduate degrees at U of MN Duluth, gaining admittance to William Mitchell Law School which he chose to defer, pursuing successful careers in both real estate brokerage and mortgage. Doug was passionate about his faith, having served in varying capacities in different expressions of the Christian Church. He was a lover of music, and enjoyed jamming with friends with his assortment of harmonicas. He had a heart for the underserved, being a "Big Brother" to several youths, and also sponsored several children and families in underdeveloped nations. He came to faith in the early 70's during the "Jesus People" movement, and remained a faithful follower to his death. In his work in real estate, he helped many secure their "dream homes" and helped countless others refinance their mortgages to significant advantage. Doug was preceded in death by father Robert, brother Scott, mother Constance, and nephew Cpl Jason Lee. Doug is survived by brother Tom(Deb) sister Susan(Tom Lee) and nephews Mathew(Mary) , Jonathan(Yi) David, Sean, Ryan, and grand-nephews Micah and Gus. Memorial service will be at Sunrise Funeral Home on Sept. 29. Visitation will be from 11;00-noon, service from noon to 1:00, with a social time with refreshments following. Internment will be a later date at Forest Hill Cemetary for family and friends. Sunrise Funeral Home is handling all arrangements. Any donations to honor Doug's life can be made to Bethel Society or the "Vine House" for men transitioning from chemical dependency to life.
