Donald Roseen Obituary

Donald E. Roseen, 73, of Munger, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday May 28, 2013 in St. Luke's Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.  He was born in Duluth on April 28, 1940 to Albert and Elsie Roseen.  Don attended Proctor High School.  He had worked as a truck driver and mechanic for Fleming Foods, and had been a Police Officer for Solway Township. Don was a member of the Proctor Moose #1302, the Superior Speedway Hall of Fame, and Hope Lutheran Church in Munger.  He was past president of the WISSOTA Promoters Association, Proctor Speedway, and the South St. Louis County Fair Board.  He had managed the Superior Speedway.  Don raced for 31 years at many different tracks, and he won numerous Track Championships.  He was the flagman for many years.  Don was a fabulous husband, father and grandfather.  The family wishes to extend a heart felt thank you to the staff at St. Luke's 6th West ICU, for the awesome care given to Don and his family. Don was preceded in death by his parents. Don is survived by his wife Joyce, children Tammy (Jason) Lofdahl, Shelly (Bill) Strapple, Donnie Roseen, Steve (Trista) Roseen, sister Donna Tupper, grandchildren, Donnie, Craig, Ryan, Steph, Curtis, Micah, and Emerson, great-grandchildren Kyla, and Gaven, brother-in-law Gene (Debbie) Spence, many nieces, nephews, and friends, and his side-kick Reggie. Visitation will be held on Sunday June 2, 2013 from 1PM until 3PM in Sunrise Funeral Home and will continue on Monday June 3, 2013 from Noon until the 1PM Funeral Service in the Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Solway Cemetery.  Arrangements by Sunrise Funeral Home.  To leave an online condolence see www.sunrisefuneralhomeandcemetery.com.
