Deborah Spence Obituary

Deborah "Debbie" K. Spence, age 62 of Hermantown, passed away on September 10, 2015, while surrounded by family. She was born on September 14, 1952, to Kenneth and Juellie (Nelson) Wennberg. She grew up in the Duluth area and graduated from Proctor High School and the College of St. Scholastica in nursing. Debbie and Gene were married on August 30, 1971, and had just celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary. Debbie will be remembered for being an angel of mercy and for always putting others before herself. Debbie is preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Wennberg. Debbie is survived by her husband, Harold "Gene" Spence; children, Ed (Leah) Spence, Christina (Chris) Dyer, Shelby Hutchins; mother, Juellie Reinke; brother, Bill (Wendy) Wennberg; sisters, Julie (Mark) Honer, Amy (Rob) Rafferty, Joyce Roseen; 6 grandchildren; 2 great granddaughters; special friend, Jim Anderson; and numerous extended family. A celebration of life service will be held on Debbie's birthday, September 14, 2015, at 2:00 PM at Sunrise Funeral Home. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service.
