Dale Campbell, age 82, of Duluth, passed away on November 10, 2015, surrounded by loving family. Born in May, 1933, Dale was the devoted son of Raymond and Marguerite Campbell. As a child, he spent his summers at his Grandmother Lepak's farm in Gnesen, where some of his greatest memories were created. In 1952, after graduating from Central High School, Dale sailed on the USS Thomas Jefferson from Whittier, California to Whittier, Alaska. There he served as a jet mechanic at Elmendorf Air Force Base during the Korean war. Upon returning home, Dale began his career in 1958 as a letter carrier for the USPS. After retiring in 1988, he returned to part time work for the Duluth Clinic as a courier where he met the love of his life, Peggy. They recently celebrated 24 wonderful, loving years of marriage. Dale was a member of NALC and an active member of Grace Lutheran Church. Some of his best times were spent hunting and fishing with his Dad, visiting with his cherished mother, taking numerous driving vacations with Peg, and spending time with family, especially participating in all of his grandchildren's activities. Dale was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Donna Swanstrom. Dale is survived by his loving wife, Peggy; daughters, Julie Rene (children, Jory, Cody, Haley and Brady), Becky Berry (children, Dawson and Logan), Debbie (John) Harper (children, Ben and Laura), Lyn Lokken (child, Layke), Lisa Lokken (children, Macey, Ethan and Quinn); son, Paul (Laura) Lokken (children, Rachel [great grandson, Liam], Lindsey, Nick, Derek and Deven); sister, Lorraine "Bunny" Woodcock; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Dale's life will be held on Monday, November 16, 2015, at 11:00 AM at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Philip Berge officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the celebration.
